Congrats to the winners of our VIP Melt Competition, Ed Allen and Leila. There were so many brilliant comments it was really hard to pick a final two, but the winning entries were voted for by the Bench team. Deserving winners, we think you’ll agree.
Winning Entry No.1
Leila says:
Just as lovers of film migrate to Tribeca
For adorers of music Melt is the Mecca
Infatuated with the idea of going to Germany
To dance and prance in paramount Harmony
As you can see I’m not versed
In the art of spitting rhyme
But for Melt I will freestyle
I swear it -until the end of time.
Yes, from the aisle to the green mile.
Yep I will lose my dignity to state that Melt is the best festival in Europe… No diggity!
Winning Entry No.2
Ed Allen says:
Dave Clarke, Plan B and Bloc party????…. Enough said!!!!! So many different tastes of music in a FANTABULOUS Location…… “melt” me down, package me up and send me there!!!!!
The best of the rest…
Kellie Gowland says:
It would be quite interesting to see what the inside of Marilyn Manson’s head looks like!
Roly says:
A helter-skelter ride into an electro-rock wonderland, taking you on a non-stop journey of absorbing music and extraordinary people – Europe’s true extravaganza.
Gareth says:
It’s not just about the music. It’s about the attitude. No holds barred, unadulterated hedonism… (alongside the best line up of music ever)

Went last year, gutted I cannot visit again this year as I’ve spent all my money!
Being able to go for a swim in the day and dance on the beach at night before the amazing horizon comes up whilst everyone walks back to the camping site makes this the best festial in the world, not just europe!

Because you have legends like Dave Clarke, Bloc Party, Rufus Wainwright, Justice and Josh Wink in with legends in the making Plan B, Two Door Cinema Club, Nero alongside some of the most exciting acts aside from them in recent years Lana Del Rey and others who’ve been around but haven’t had the attention they’ve deserved Blood Red Shoes, The Whitest Boy Alive and M83 all wrapped up into a completely ecclectic lineup… in Germany where it usually hot and they refuse to serve crappy beer!
Neal Brasier says:
The birth of my child, my wedding day, the day my Mum told me she was proud of me for the first time in 30 years, the day I earned my 25m swimming badge….none of these made me as happy as the time I spent at Melt!
It’s much more than a festival. Nothing compares.
