This year, Bench is an official partner of one of Europes biggest electronic music festivals, Les Nuits Sonores.
Held in Lyon, Nuits Sonores showcases over 250 artists, playing at over 50 different sites, most of them based in historic buildings with a rich cultural heritage.
Now in its ninth year, Nuits Sonores has stood out as the first French festival of independent and electronic culture, and occupies a considerable place in the European landscape.
Every year, Nuits Sonores invites a different city from around the world to join in the festival in unique and innovative ways, through the artists playing and creative projects.
This program is called a “Carte blancheâ€, and in August 2010 Nuits Sonores chose to invite Tokyo for the 2011 edition.
When the earthquake happened earlier this year, Bench and Nuits Sonores planned to raise money for the people of Tokyo and the areas affected by the earthquake.
Bench have paired up with Nuits Sonores to design unique t-shirts with artists from the festival, which will be auctioned off on 2 June at the festival to raise money for the city of Tokyo. Artists will be revealed over the coming weeks.
The Bench brand also partners the official Nuits Sonores movie – Fields of Experiment, which will have its first preview in the Modern art Museum of Lyon on 2 June.
