It’s true to say that Danny Marquez is a man of many talents – an international DJ and owner of record label Bubble Soul Music, Marquez is a producer’s producer. Bench Ed, Belinda Hanks, catches up with Spain’s finest on the Space tour.

Lives? Between Barcelona, Manresa and Ibiza.
Job? DJ and Producer and Space Ibiza resident.
Describe your style? House and Progressive House, but I would prefer to describe my music as something fresh with a lot of energy.
Claim to fame? Work hard and you’ll achieve your goals.
What are your first musical memories? I have such a lot of them! But the ones who really changed my way of understanding music were Daft Punk.
Who are your musical inspirations? It’s difficult to say, as I have too many! From classics such as Carl Cox or George Morel to new musical generations like Nicky Romero or Madeon.
When did you know you wanted to be a DJ? The first time I was in a club and listened to “Around the World” from Daft Punk!
You now play all over the world – Have you got the best job in the world? Yes, I consider myself a very fortunate person. However, it’s far harder than it looks like.
You’ve released a number of brilliant tracks. Your discography is littered with incredible tunes. Could you choose a favourite/s? Get High, a new tune working collaboratively with the Global Deejays. But, without doubt, my favourite one has always been Afrocatalans, as it was my first project which consolidated me as a producer.
What’s better – recording in the studio or playing live? Recording in the studio can be really satisfying but there’s nothing compared to playing live!
Where is the most incredible place you’ve ever played and why? Apart from Space Ibiza club, Zouk Singapore would be my second option. It cannot be described in a few words. Is one of the few clubs in the world which I consider people have to go once in their lives!
If you could play one more set before you die where would it be and what tunes would you just have to play? I would choose to play in Space Ibiza’s Sunset Terrace in good company for all my friends and people who have supported me along these years. In such a musical event like this I guess it is supposed to hear some of my classics; at least, to remember old times. However, I am not a great fan of classics. From my point of view, artists need to reinvent themselves constantly.
How did you get involved in Space Ibiza? After a long time producing and performing around the world and, in many occasions, as a Space Ibiza guest, they finally offered me to work with them.
How does it compare Space Ibiza to other clubs around the world? It cannot be compared; it’s just the best club in the world!
Obviously you are a Bench fan. What do you love about Bench clothes? Bench it’s like my music, something fresh with a lot of energy!
