Inside of Marylin Manson’s head sounds like a challenge! But from the looks of things, its a fantastic event! Electronic meets Rock, a perfect combination, and to be set in such a fantastic place… I don’t know why I’ve not been yet! We should rectify this!

Melt! is by far the best festival in Europe because of it’s incredible location and lineup.

Beneath those monolithic cranes, I imagine the crowds party hard to the sound of some of the finest electronic acts who are playing.

I’d love to go this year as not had a holiday for an age and this would be a welcome break, and party, for myself and my girlfriend.

The birth of my child, my wedding day, the day my Mum told me she was proud of me for the first time in 30 years, the day I earned my 25m swimming badge….none of these made me as happy as the time I spent at Melt!
It’s much more than a festival. Nothing compares.

  32. Athanasios Chatzopoulos says:

Caribou + M83 + Zola Jesus + Yeasayer + German Beer + German Sausage + Perfect place = Marilyn Mansos’ head’s not a scary place to be after all

Melt festival is like a psychedelic euphoria where dreams are created!

Melt festival is a paragon of beauty where the weak magically become heroes… nothing can deter you from (nothing short of) bliss at any point while there, not even the warm fizzy water as only hydration!

    !

  39. Chris Stiffel says:

The Melt! gives its visitors a wonderful opportunity to break away from everyday routine and lead for a few days a completely different life than they normally do. Instead of being busy from morning to evening with a school, college, work or family, it is possible to do at a festival always exactly what one is just the point. You can get to know new people as you like to see the favorite bands and be exactly the person who you always wanted to be.

  52. Vicki Page-Clark says:

Amazing location (how cool does the museum sound?!), fab artists (I’d go for Lauren Garnier and Dave Clarke alone – brilliant to have somewhere I can indulge my eclectic tastes!) and you get to go for a swim or beach lie down between sets :-)

  53. James Bramwell says:

Melt just sums up all the great things this festival offers – a fusion of great musical styles (dance, electronica, rock amongst others), a fab industrial style, and if the heat gets too much, the swimming pool and beach will stop you MELTing….!

  54. Emma-Leigh waters says:

I have never been to Melt before but have sat for hours watching videos on you tube and looking at pictures and I already know it is the best festival in Europe.
If I win I will dress like Marylin manson and dance my way to Berlin with a mini crane attached to me with an iPod speaker hanging off it playing all the acts that I will hopefully get to see I will be THAT excited!

  55. JoC says:

The setting for the MELT inside an industrial museum in Germany is totally unique. In a nod to those old skool intimate ‘gigs’ you used to experience in run down warehouses or abandoned factories back in the 80′s and early 90′s – you get to hear ‘real’ urban music magnified tenfold into one incredible huge festival – an unbelievable opportunity to experience music the way it was meant to be heard…thrown into a culturally diverse MELTing pot it offers an ‘inlusive vibe’ that simply needs to experieced to be believed..

  56. Christine Mutter says:

I am a virgin festival goer so would love thos to be my first – from what I have heard its among the best.

  57. laura says:

A festival like no other. Legendary artists performing in a unique setting which you aren’t going to forget in a hurry. Melt festival is the only place to party this summer.

  58. Christina Brown says:

Simply because there is no other like it.
Melt is unique and explosive- it’s one of the best festivals EVER full stop and that’s really something impressive considering the high bar set by festivals these days.
It’s cult-like in that the people that go once suddenly develop a real loyalty towards it and can find nowhere to beat the vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
Best of all it has an amazing lineup….I want to go so bad this year!

  59. Sophie says:

I’ve not been to Melt before and to be honest I’ve not heard of it before this. But I can certainly tell you why it’d be the best festival in Europe once i’ve been and come back ;)

  60. Matt Prestidge says:

Melt is the best festival why compare it
nothing comes close and everybody swears it
the music and the vibes from this german site
you party all the day and continue through the night
you know it makes sense its the best festival in europe
Its really missing me though so i really need a hookup.

  61. Rhian says:

MELT! HAS to be the best festival firstly because of the location, what others festivals can boast 30 metre high machines as one of their star attractions?! Come on! Couple that with Electro vs Rock and you have yourself a futuristic party of a lifetime!

  62. Fay Gillard says:

It sounds fantastic but I could you tell you what I REALLY think if I win!

  63. Sian says:

Because it is the most diverse and incredible festival in Europe. With acts from all sorts of genres from electronic too hip hop to rock, it caters for all! No other festival has all the artists that you want to, but wouldn’t expect to see on the same line up! Nothing compares to MELT!

  64. Hannah Payne says:

It’s the best festival because it lets people get away from their everyday hectic life, and just be free to explore music they love and musicians they’ve never heard of. It sits in an industrial city with beautiful happy, sunshiny people, where you will be able to get a real flavour of pop culture from Superpunk to Plan B, melt really does have it all! :)

  65. benjamin says:

Melt is the best festival because it is set in a great location and the line up looks like one of the best for the summer……. perfect

  66. Corinne Faulkner says:

I would say for me it has to be the location plus it’s an openair museum from the 20th Century INCREDIBLE and I just love history too plus the line up is just simply FANTASTIC – I love German beer too.

  67. Jessica Cook says:

SPEACHLESS!!! wow is all you can say! x

A brilliant selection of groups/music makes melt the place to be.

  69. Kerry Kirkwood says:

Never been to Melt but have been to lots of other music fests. Would be nice to compare it against some of the greats. Plus Germany what a place for a festival!

It melts your brain with the beats.

  71. Helen says:

It’s the best festival, cos it has the best line up, and you just have to mention ‘Melt’ and proper music lovers ears prick up, as the atmosphere there is ut of this world.

  72. Jan Sissons says:

Dont think any reply sums up the experience, or the wanna be experience for a woman of my age to have a taste of this

  73. Daniel says:

Booze, Bitches & Banter = Ultimate Win!

  74. Maria says:

Melt festival gives you the closest thing to an epiphanic experience that a lifelong agnostic like myself can wish for. Incomparable to other festivals and somehow still withholds that feeling that it’s still on the ‘hidden treasure’ side of things. .

Wishing so hard to have a chance to abandon the office chair and cross Europe to embrace the mighty sound in that strange, splendid, industrial land. And skipping down to lap up everything the lake has to offer in the daytime!

i can’t even start to talk about this year’s lineup without getting the excited cannon-ball feeling in my belly at the possibility of being present at all those acts after all….

  75. sarah r says:

Love Germany, love music and hubbys beloved Croatia just been put out of Euro 2012 so the Bench BBQ sounds cool too ;)

  76. Raj Sandhu says:

It has the BEST lineup, why go to reading & leeds when you can go to MELT!

  77. james holyland says:

thats the word on the street!

  78. Laura Sanderson says:

Melt! is the best festival since it has a rnage of music to suit all your moods!

  79. Christopher Mckendrick says:

Because the ear-melting lineup includes Benga,
Bloc Party, Caribou, Casper, Flux Pavilion, Hudson Mohawke, Josh Wink, M83, Matador, Modeselektor, Nero, Plan B, Squarepusher and The Bloody Beetroots… To name just a few of the artists I’d love to see there, and the venue looks truly mind-melting too. I need some quality time out of reality, and I can’t think of a festival I’d rather go to.

  80. Mark says:

Melt has a wonderful array of artists at a fantastic location. Would also be a remarkable opportunity to visit Germany-a place I have always wanted to visit.

  81. emilie gale says:

“Electronic meets rock “perfection…location…perfection I’m intrigued by the open air museum of 20th century industrial machines i though Berghain was cool ?!.. whilst sampling the delights of the line up which is ….unbelivable hands down the line up of 2012 ….final show from superpunk says it all.The light shows and stages are second to none ,and this is coming from somebody who saw chemical brothers at glastonbury !!!!watching the video from 2011 my friends showed me …i admit i didnt previously know too much about Melt festival although i have been to some boomtastic nights in london with melt DJ’s.we both looked at each other ,there was a mutual understanding …one way or another we were getting to the amazing ,magical place one way or another….

  82. Kerry Riley says:

Sounds fab, I’d like to go and find out

  83. Daniel Lane says:

Ive been to a fair few festivals in the past an MELT has been the best by far. Cracking location with great visuals, really chilled atmosphere everyone is really friendly and definitely the cleanest festival ive been to.
Would love to experience it again, im sure it would be better than last time aswell.
Big shout to MELT festival, other festivals need to take note if they ever want to get close to being as good as this one. However im sure even if they did they still wouldnt get close.

  84. Jennifer Heaton says:

Its the place to be-playing the music you want to hear

  85. Solange says:

    It just is, gimmee!!

  86. Helen says:

Less mud, more sun, better music, Great beer!

  87. Leila says:

Just as lovers of film migrate to Tribeca
For adorers of music Melt is the Mecca
Infatuated with the idea of going to Germany
To dance and prance in paramount Harmony
As you can see I’m not versed
In the art of spitting rhyme
But for Melt I will freestyle
I swear it -until the end of time.
Yes, from the aisle to the green mile.

Yep I will lose my dignity to state that Melt is the best festival in Europe… No diggity!

  88. Leila (again) says:
