What´s your profession?
In my regular life I’m a technical director in a company that creates computer generated images for most brands in the car industry. Think of images you see in brochures, commercials or car configurators. Still, my main passion is BMX Flatland. You might compare it to “breakdance on a bike”. I started 15 years ago and have been riding at international pro level for around ten years. During this time, I’ve won the Belgian Championship five times.
Describe your personal style…
My style has changed a lot over the years. Ranging from really colourful to more basic styles. Currently I like wearing comfortable essentials, clothing I can wear at work but still feels right during my BMX sessions.
What´s the most important essential in your wardrobe?
My BMX shoes, protecting my feet from ultimate destruction during hour long sessions.
Did your parents ever give you any styling tips?
Once when I was in high school where I learnt a life lesson…you should not ask your parents for styling tips! In general I just like wearing what I like, you should never let yourself be too influenced by others opinions. Find your own way.
The Bench #LoveMyHood campaign focuses on city neighbourhoods and the people that thrive in them. Where´s your ‘hood?
I currently live quite close to Brussels, in Vilvoorde, because it’s really convenient for my job. But at the weekends you will most likely find me in Antwerp. My original hometown and favorite place in Belgium.
What do you love most about your neighbourhood?
Antwerp is small, cozy, has a lot of history and it has great places to hang out and party. Most importantly it’s the place where I meet up with my friends the most.
What word describes your ‘hood best?
